  • Our History

Having launched the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in 2012, which now receives over 3,000 applications annually, has its own print publication and a community of circa 15,000 entrepreneurs, we're well placed to recognise and champion the towns and cities that make up Entrepreneurial Britain.

Great British Entrepreneur Awards launched in 2012

Born out of a belief that entrepreneurs were as much about their story as their balance sheet, the awards launched in London in 2012.

A national programme with one central event, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrated some phenomenal entrepreneurs from day one including the founders of BrewDog, Tangle Teezer, ClearScore and The Cambridge Satchel Company.

Supported by the good and the great

Our judging panel includes the founders of Go Compare, Cath Kidston, Mulberry and MOBO.

"The Great British Entrepreneur Awards matches my ambition to not only celebrate entrepreneurs and their achievements but to support them in their endeavours. It’s an honour to have been a member of the judging panel over the past few years and I look forward to seeing what 2020 brings".

Now in eight cities with strong regional representation

We decided that not everything has to happen in London, so we expended into 7 further cities and now, each year we receive over 3,000 applications

"GBEA is a community that really does work to the benefit of everyone involved. Something you don’t realise, even being in business yourself, is just how many incredible British businesses there are and we should be sharing success stories and championing those getting out there and doing it more – and that’s exactly what GBEA does".

Our magazine tells the stories of Great British Entrepreneurs

Shining a spotlight on their endeavours, their journeys and successes

This publication has featured James Caan of Dragons Den fame along with the founders of MOBO, The New Covent Garden Soup Company, Catch Kidston & Go Compare.

Post COVID:19, we believe that entrepreneurs are vital in rebooting the economy.

Great Britain needs to recognise and support enterprising towns and cities in order to fulfil its full potential.

"GBEA is utterly brilliant at recognising the wonderful and diverse entrepreneurial talent we have in Great Britain. Winning the Young Entrepreneur and Great British Entrepreneur of the Year for the South West Region was literally mind-blowing and is now inspiring me to push myself harder than ever before!"
